The Best Bridal Shoes

Written by Charlotte Wood (last updated January 4, 2021)

Your wedding day will probably be one of the most important days of your life, and you want every aspect of this day to be just as you want. Most little girls grow up forming their wedding days in their minds, mentally choosing flowers, colors, dresses, and rings. Your wedding day is a big day, and you especially want your bridal look to be flawless. You want the perfect dress, the perfect hair, the perfect makeup, the perfect jewelry, and the perfect shoes. Shoes, however, are kind of a hard aspect to address when it comes to being a bride. You want pretty shoes that go with your look as a bride, but at the same time, you also want comfort, because you'll likely be in your dress for several hours. Here are some ideas to help you pick the best bridal shoes.

On your wedding day, the beauty of your bridal look is probably one of the things at the top of your list. You want to be beautiful in every way, and being beautiful physically is a big part of that. You have someone do your hair in a special way; you have a whole army of women at your command to get you dressed, to get you water, to get you anything you need; you have your whole perfect day waiting in front of you. For your bridal look, shoes may be an important part for you. You want your shoes to reflect the rest of your look whether that be formal and dainty, or casual and laid back. Something else, however, you want to keep in mind is comfort. You'll likely be in these shoes all day and if that's the case, then you definitely want comfortable shoes. Is there a way to reconcile pretty shoes with comfortable shoes? Usually the two ideas are not compatible, and you may want to try and find a solution.

If you do your shopping thoroughly, you have good chances at finding pretty shoes that are also relatively comfortable. This may take some time, and probably some degree of frustration, but it is possible for you to find pretty shoes that won't kill your feet after a few hours of wearing. Then again, comfort may be a bit lower on your bridal priority list, and that's okay too. If that's you, then go ahead and buy your perfect pair of shoes that match your dress, your colors, and your look, without any other qualms.

There is perhaps a compromise, however, for the beauty factor and the comfort factor surrounding your bridal shoes. For the pictures and the actual ceremony, wear your perfect pair of bridal shoes, and then for the parties and reception afterwards, slip on a pair of more comfortable, still pretty, shoes. Wedding dresses are usually long anyway, and if you can't really see the shoes, then wearing a different pair for the wedding festivities shouldn't be a big deal. (And people's attention isn't usually focused on the shoes anyway).

So, when you're planning your big day, you don't need to stress yourself out about shoes. Know that finding the best bridal shoes is possible, and also that you can find shoes that satisfy both beauty and comfort. Congratulations on your special day!
