Get the Long, Beautiful Nails You Want

Written by Charlotte Wood (last updated January 20, 2021)

I am cursed with really lame finger nails. I think I get it from my mom, but my nails are completely useless for looking pretty at all. Instead of growing straight my nails kind of flare out as they grow longer and are really just pointless for any kind of beauty statement. On top of that my nails break easily and aren't very healthy in general, yet I still would like to have long, beautiful nails. Is it possible with such lame nails as my own? As long as you keep healthy nails your nails can always be beautiful!

One of the first things to keep in mind is the actual shape of your nails and stay within those limits. With my nails, I can't really grow them out long because they just don't look attractive long, so mine look best kept on the short side. Some people have great nails and can pull off long nails without a second thought.

Once you're aware of the limitations set by your natural nail shape, then you need to focus on strengthening your nails. This can be done easily with strengthening clear polishes (these products always advertise their strengthening qualities and can easily be found in any nail polish brand). One of the products I've found that helps actually is polish that also contains horse hoof strengthener!

Aside from special clear polishes, there are other ways to build up and maintain your nails and beautiful nails (ones that are natural anyway) can only come with the proper care. Also something else to remember is to keep your nails on the shorter end until they're strong enough to hold out when they're longer. Keep your nails trimmed the shape you want, usually curving with the white crescents at the bottom of your nails. Keep your cuticles pushed down and if you really want healthy nails, you can apply clear coats of strengthening polish to maintain the hardness. Moisturize your hands often and keep them smooth and also drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. Much of nail care comes with just simply taking care of your body anyway.

Once you have healthy and beautiful nails, you can sail right on into long, beautiful, and healthy nails. If your nails are healthy then you should have no problem having them long and you can have your own sexy nails that are completely natural!
