Picking the Right Nail Polish
Summary: Painting your toes and fingers is always a fun indulgence and a big part of that fun is picking out the colors. While it is mostly fun, picking the right nail polish requires some personal discretion and consideration of your other activities and commitments. If you keep these few ideas in mind as you peruse the nail polish racks, you won't go wrong!I remember when I was little and I used to love wearing nail polish and would always ask my mom to paint my fingers and toes. As I grew older I would paint my nails while watching a movie or at a slumber party with friends from homeroom. Being a girl, you just grow up painting your nails and experimenting with different colors and styles—it's fun! While it is fun, there are a few things to remember when picking the right nail polish.
You need to consider what kind of statement or effect your nail color could have. This is especially important when considering your lifestyle. Your nails need to be appropriate for whatever work you're involved in and whatever hobbies or activities you participate in. If you're a student then nail color probably doesn't matter that much, but if you work in a professional, corporate setting, there are fashion norms that need to be followed.
As a general rule, whenever I apply nail polish I keep the simpler, more toned down colors for my finger nails and the brighter, more exciting colors for my toes. Since people see your hands more than they see your feet it's crucial to keep the color on your finger nails appropriate for whatever situation you commonly find yourself in. Especially for fingernails, I find the French manicure look to be especially attractive and appropriate for just about any look. (However, if you participate in athletics, expensive manicures are probably not the wisest investment for you). Also with nail colors, don't choose a trampy red for either fingers or toes; keep your look classy and sophisticated.
Toes are fun because you can get away with just about anything from a seducing red to a popping pink to a deep teal. For your toes bright, deep, and vivid colors look great and can give your appearance that extra pop you've been looking for. Picking the right nail polish isn't necessarily hard; it just takes some reasoning and common sense. Now you can go to beauty aisle and have some fun as you pick out some new colors that are sensational on you!
