When you remove your eye makeup, don't just use water. Buy an eye-makeup remover and use that every time you take it off. Don't choose a remover that is oily. That way you don't clog your pores or make more of a mess when removing your eye makeup. Use cotton balls or tissues to rub off the makeup.
