Looking Younger

Summary: As you age, you may want to retain some of your youthful look and sometimes it's hard to know how to do that. Follow these few simple guidelines and achieve a younger, yet still appropriate look!

Aging happens to all of us and eventually we all will develop those fine lines around our eyes and those gray hairs around our temples. Aging happens and there's nothing we can do about it. There are however ways we can reduce the appearance of aging without fighting the whole concept of aging with tooth and nail. There are definitely ways to make yourself look younger and still look natural; you just need to go about it in the right way.

One of the best things you can do (and one you should definitely start while you're still young) is to take care of your skin and keep it in good condition. If you wash and moisturize your face on a daily basis then you're already leaps and bounds ahead of someone who hasn't taken that course. By taking care of your face you keep your pores clear, prevent blemishes, and prevent the early and aggressive advance of an aging appearance. This is probably one of the best things you can do to look younger. If you take care of your face and skin when you actually are young, that will benefit you when you're older.

Don't go overkill on the makeup. Wearing gobs of makeup on your face won't make you look younger but will rather accentuate your age and reveal your averse attitude to the whole concept of aging. An obvious display of tantrum aging is so much more unattractive and noticeable than graceful aging. You should definitely still do your hair and makeup and take those measures to make yourself feel good about your appearance, but don't overdo it in anyone area.

Dovetailing with this concept is the advice that you should dress appropriately. Don't wear younger clothes to make yourself look younger. Few things are more unattractive than a sixty-year-old woman in junior-sized jeans and a tube top.

The best way to look younger paradoxically is to accept your aging. Decide to age gracefully and go with the flow. That doesn't mean letting yourself go once you're past age sixty-five, but rather continuing to take care of yourself and enjoy life. When people see that you're happy where you are in life they'll notice that rather than the crow's feet around your eyes. The best way to look (and feel) younger is not to affect a different generation. Accept where you are, do what you can or want to improve your appearance and just take life as it comes!
