Understanding an Autumn Person

Summary: With the unique nature of the season autumn comes with it a unique set of deep and vivid colors. If you're an Autumn, your color palette is rich with possibilities and you have the ability to look amazing!

Autumn is by far my favorite season. I love the colors and the crisp air and I associate it with the start of school, which I always look forward to. Some people see fall as a season of dying but I like to view it as a time for starting over and experiencing new things. I love autumn! What's especially fun in autumn is seeing those people who just seem to come out of the cracks and shine in those special fall colors. I envy people whose natural color palette is autumn; I think I have traces of fall in me, but I'm not strictly an Autumn kind of girl. I find it amazing how Autumns can make seemingly drab colors like gray, brown, and black pop like you just noticed it for the first time.

Autumn people have warm, glowing undertones to their skin and pure Autumns have hair that is naturally a copper or beige. They look best in earthy tones, however they can mix their style with other seasons. Autumn is a very versatile color palette, allowing room for traces of Summer, Winter, or Spring palettes. If you're an Autumn-Summer, you might have lighter hair than that of a traditional Autumn. If you mix with Winter, you probably have darker hair still with warm skin undertones. If you're an Autumn-Spring you can really mix it up with blond hair and the ability to wear vivid colors.

The way to go with an Autumn color palette is to find ways and colors that enhance your warmth. One of the things I love about fall is the crisp, chilly air and the feeling you get when you come inside and warmth just hits you; you can feel your skin prickling and your body rapidly adapting. That's the warmth Autumns tend to exude. As can be expected, Autumns look best in makeup that comprises earthy shades; golds and browns look especially good on an Autumn. Avoid makeup that is too bright or loud—bright colors, while fun to look at, aren't necessarily your friend when it comes to your colors. Not only will warm earthy makeup look natural, it will also bring out the warmth in your complexion.

As a season of the year, autumn allows time for restarting and taking new risks. Make the world try new things all year as you go forth with confidence and security in your new color. With a vivid earthy color palette full of gold and crimson and chocolate, you can rock the world of fashion and make the statement you want.
