Makeup Tips for Evenings

Summary: Evening is the time for you to let loose and let your cosmetic personality shine. Learn how to create that perfect evening makeup and make a makeup statement wherever you go at night!

Your makeup for daytime should be different from the makeup you wear for a night on the town. When you go out for the evening, you want to have that sultry, irresistible look. With those smoky eyes and sexy lips, you can turn heads and cause a stir. Evening can be a fun time to let loose and have some fun with your makeup. Boldness is way more acceptable and even sometimes expected in the evenings. This is a time to let down you hair and let everyone know how beautiful you can be.

Daytime makeup needs to be more understated and should use lighter colors. If this is a restriction for you, then count on evening affairs to give you the opportunity to be cosmetically bold. After the sun goes down, so do many of the cosmetic, daytime norms. Feel free to experiment with bold colors and to make more of a statement with your makeup. Lighting actually has more to do with how to do your makeup than you may realize and the dimmer light associated with evening allows you to give more contrast to your face.

The best place to achieve contrast and sexiness in your evening look is your eyes. Here are some good steps to follow when applying your evening eyes:

  1. Put concealer around the eyes and use it to cover up dark circles. Pat concealer rather than rub it—that will produce the best results.
  2. Apply some eye base, or a little bit of powder to your eye lid to prep and prevent the color from wearing off later in the night.
  3. Put on your eye shadow and use colors ranging in tone but colors that all share some good evening contrast. Start with a light color on your lid and under your brow. Blend these colors with a medium shade on the lid only, and finish up with the darkest color accenting your eye in the crease.
  4. With the eye liner use some dark wetted eye shadow and on the upper lid, apply as close to the lash line all across the lid. On the bottom do the same thing but only go to the middle.
  5. Use an eye highlighter on the inside corners of the eyes to give it more depth. (Gold or pink highlighters achieve the best look). Use this same highlighter for your brow bone.
  6. Finish up with your eyelashes. Curl the lashes and use a good dark mascara to add the finishing touch.

With these simple tips, evening makeup should be a breeze and you shouldn't have any qualms about giving yourself an evening eye-popping punch. Make a statement with your evening makeup and make a bang at that party!
